Yoga For A Cause: Om This Way 2016
Most of us already know that yoga is healthy for our own minds, bodies, and souls, which is why more than 15 million Americans practice yoga at least once a month.
But how often can you do yoga and positively impact the minds, bodies, and souls of others at the same time?
Om This Way is a special event coordinated by the Urban Legends of Tanya-b, Equniox, and The Felix Organization that combines the peace of yoga with the beauty of giving.
On Tuesday, October 18th at the Equinox Sports Club on Columbus Ave, approximately 150 people came together to share a common purpose: support children in foster care. More than a hundred yoga mats lined the floor of the room as a beautiful mix of people enjoyed a unique experience that blended the serenity of yoga with the cool energy of Hip Hop.
Guests were treated to an intimate live performance from one of The Felix Organization's co-founders, Hip Hop icon and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels of the legendary Rap group, Run DMC. He performed some of the group’s greatest hits including “It’s Tricky” and “Walk This Way.”
Darryl McDaniels hung out after his performance to take pictures with excited fans, sign autographs (& Adidas sneakers!), and sign copies of his new book, “Ten Ways Not To Commit Suicide.”
Juice Press, Brad’s Plant Based, and Little Duck Organics, provided light drinks and snacks for guests after their awesome yoga session.
We would like to thank everyone who made this amazing event possible, especially the women at the Tanya-b for working their magic on and off the yoga mats.
The fun continues on Wednesday, October 26th at Om This Way San Fransisco! There is still time to register and we would love to see you there!
